Darlene Hilderbrand, Executive Director

Darlene Hilderbrand has diverse experience spanning the nonprofit and business sectors with a focus on management and human resources. Prior to joining HOH, Darlene was the director of a number of non-profit organizations and spent over twelve years as a Human Resource professional and social worker. She came to HOH as a volunteer Bereavement Coordinator in 1998 and was later hired as the Hospice Service Coordinator. Darlene has been the Hospice Executive Director since 2002. She believes that knowing that we will die teaches us how to live fully and that it is a sacred gift to be present with people and their families as they make this journey.

Sandy Miller, Service Coordinator

Sandy Miller became the Hospice of Homer Service Coordinator in 2008. Before that Sandy volunteered with Hospice off and on for about 10 years. Sandy combines practical skills with her heart in the work she does with Hospice. Sandy received her CNA in 1998 and held numerous CNA positions before coming to Hospice. She took care of her grandmother until she died in 2006 and is currently caring for her aunt who came to live with her in 2007. Sandy’s heart’s desire is to serve her family and community, bringing the best of health, comfort and freedom of choice to people desiring to stay in the comfort of their own homes when life is most fragile.
